On 24 February we awoke to a new reality. Hundreds of thousands of people rushed towards the Polish border to find help and shelter as they faced the war. Ceramika Paradyż, like many other Polish companies, has become involved in helping Ukraine and its citizens as a sign of support and solidarity.
Activities of Ceramika Paradyż in the face of war in Ukraine
- Just minutes after the attack on Ukraine began, the company contacted employees, customers and partners who were in that country. Assistance was provided to those who needed it. Currently, more than 60 people remain under the company's care in Poland.
- The Management Board of Ceramika Paradyż met with the employees from Ukraine employed by the Company, surrounding them with warmth and care. After the talks, a decision was made to provide financial support to their families.
- The company established cooperation with the local Proem Zako Foundation, where there are nearly 200 refugees, mainly women, children and elderly people. It will continue to provide financial support for the Foundation's work with refugees at the centre until August.
- Two fundraising events were organised in all locations, both production sites and offices, to collect the most necessary items such as medicines, bandages, blankets, food and chemical products. The company donated them to the Proem Foundation. Some of the collected donations stayed at the centre, while others were sent on humanitarian transports to Ukraine.
- The company also purchased school supplies, including backpacks, shoe bags and educational materials for Ukrainian children attending one of the primary schools in Opoczno.
- Moreover, Ceramika Paradyż employees get involved in collections organized by cities, NGOs and other institutions and provide shelter to refugees in their homes.
- Facing the enormity of the human tragedy caused by the war in Ukraine, Ceramika Paradyż has decided to suspend business cooperation with counterparties from the Russian Federation.
From the first day of the war, we as a company have not remained indifferent to the harm that has befallen defenceless and innocent people. Knowing full well that aid to Ukraine and its people will be needed for many months to come, we have taken real action which we will adapt to the changing situation as the need and opportunity arises. This is natural for us and comes from the need of the heart. Life should now be the greatest value for all of us.
said Tomasz Popielawski, PR and Corporate Communication Manager, Spokesman for Ceramika Paradyż.
