A' Design Award and Competition is the World’s largest, most prestigious and influential design accolade, the highest achievement in design. A' Design Award Winner Logo, symbolizes exceptional design excellence in products, projects and services. A’ Design Awards were established to create awareness for good design practices and principles. The ultimate aim of the A’ Design Award & Competition is to build strong incentives for designers, companies and brands from all countries to come up with better products, services and systems that benefit mankind. Laureates are invited to attend the glamorous gala-night and award ceremony in Italy where they would be called to stage to collect their trophies, award certificates and yearbooks.
- We are enormously proud of this prestigious distinction. A'Design Award means that our collection is appreciated in Italy, which is – the very centre of the global design of ceramic tiles. The award confirms our belief that investing in good design makes great sense, and that when creating a modern product, it is worth to use history and tradition as its basis. This is what the Modernizm collection – which combines the heritage of Polish ceramics with innovative possibilities of creating contemporary interiors – is about. - says Michał Drożdż, the board member, the general design and marketing strategy director.
Modernizm is a combination of tradition and innovation. It is distinguished by rediscovered corset tiles, i.e. small ceramic cubes with characteristic notches and embossments. The collection catches the eye with a variety of patterns, formats and colours, offering freedom of arrangement. The products can be used on both floors and walls. They will be perfect for buildings under conservation protection, but also for tenement houses, modern restaurants, shops or home space.
- I am very happy that the jury of the competition noticed the value of the Modernizm project and appreciated not only the attractive product but above all – the idea behind it. It can be clearly seen that a collection rooted in tradition and localness fits perfectly into the context of the modern international market. This proves that some solutions are truly timeless and hold up regardless of time and place. The beautiful, durable and natural material used in the collection will allow to enjoy it over the next decades. - said Maja Ganszyniec, the designer of the Modernizm collection and the owner of Studio Ganszyniec.
The Modernizm Collection won the Bronze A’Design Award. This is the award level that translates into an excellent design, received by only 5-10% of all the competition's winners. Ceramika Paradyż is the only Polish manufacturer in the ceramics industry that has been bestowed with valued international awards in the area of industrial design: Red Dot Design Award 2016 for the Trakt Collection, iF Design Award 2017 for the Elanda/Elando Collection and Bronze A’Design Award 2020 for the Modernizm Collection.
