Ceramika Paradyż is going to invest PLN 125 million in a globally innovative technology

Ceramika Paradyż is the first company in the world to be able to produce large-format ceramic tiles based on innovative pressing technology with simultaneous dyeing in the whole mass. As representatives of the company point out, it is a milestone both for the development of the Polish, family company and the entire ceramic industry.

Ceramika Paradyż is a showcase of the Polish industry in the world. For 31 years, the company has been consistently investing in its development, implementing innovative products, and setting directions for other manufacturers. The pioneering spirit of the company has popped up also these days. The Management Board of Ceramika Paradyż has taken a bold decision to invest over 125 million Polish zlotys in an innovative technology offering the possibility of a unique "tile through" decoration in the entire ceramic tile. Thanks to this innovation, the Polish company will be able to offer an unprecedented range of large-format ceramic tiles with extensive decorative effects visible in the entire cross-section of the tile, even after mechanical edge treatment. The products manufactured on the production line will allow reflecting faithfully the characteristics of natural materials such as stone, architectural concrete, or wood. This is an absolute novelty on the market which will contribute to expanding the portfolio of the company's customers by attracting additional customers who have so far relied on the offer of the indirect competitors. The solution enables the production of large-format ceramic tiles in a maximum format of 1800 x 3200 mm and a thickness of up to 30 mm with a structure, quality, durability, and other performance parameters similar to those of natural materials.

From the very beginning of the establishment of the company, we have been focused on our development and we have been making every effort to constantly adapt our portfolio to changing market needs. We are constantly working on new solutions that make this possible. With our expertise and experience in manufacturing, we asked machine manufacturers whether it would be technologically possible to create such an innovative product. After long months of preparations and discussions, we can now announce the commencement of a huge investment which will include the construction of a demonstration line for the manufacturing of large-format ceramic tiles in the technology of the "tile through" dyeing. We are proud that, despite certain limitations caused by the effects of the pandemic, this year we have managed to take such an important step for the future of both the company and the entire ceramic industry.

The implementation of innovative technology is of strategic importance for the development of Ceramika Paradyż. The planned investment will translate into many aspects of the business activity of the Polish manufacturer, opening new development perspectives for it. First of all, the company will obtain competitively priced products in relation to materials such as precious calacatta marble or other stones. Natural resources of these raw materials are increasingly scarce in the world. Creating an alternative for them is an important step on the path of development of the entire industry. Thanks to an innovative manufacturing method, large-format tiles will have a much wider range of applications and they will be able to be used not only for the arrangement of uniform surfaces of walls and floors but also for finishing facades, kitchen worktops, window sills, tombstones or stair steps. As a consequence, Ceramika Paradyż will be able to broaden its portfolio of customers by attracting additional customers who have so far used the offer of manufacturers of other finishing materials. In addition, products created on the planned line will be addressed to the Polish and foreign markets. Ceramika Paradyż will, therefore, further strengthen its position and it will boost its competitiveness in the international arena. The launch of the new production line will also allow for the optimisation of manufacturing processes and the creation of over 60 new jobs, which is extremely important for the development of the entire region.

The project has been preceded by industrial research and experimental development work. In November this year, contracts will be signed with suppliers selected by tender, and the assembly of components of the modern production line will start at the beginning of the next year and it will last until December 2021. Manufacturing is planned to start in the first half of 2022. However, the company sets itself an ambitious plan to make it possible to start-up part of the production line for manufacturing the first large-format ceramic slabs already in the second half of 2021. The total value of the investment is PLN 125,757,216.97, of which PLN 50,311,964.91 was obtained by the company from the European Regional Development Fund under the Intelligent Development Operational Programme 2014-2020 co-financed by the European Union. The project is implemented as part of the National Centre for Research and Development competition: "Fast Path" for large companies and consortia.
